But what are the most widely used cloud services?

According to a Gartner surveythe IT services segment was among the three fastest-growing areas in 2021. This is mainly because cloud computing has been vital to all the digital transformation that has taken place so far. However, it still has a big role to play in the coming years.

Managers need to understand the types of technology cloud computing technology that best suits their processes, so that the application is effective. Here are some characteristics of the most commonly used cloud services:

Public cloud

In the public cloud, the cloud computing system is offered by a third-party provider who manages the contents of that cloud. In this way, resources such as servers and storage, and other support infrastructures, are the responsibility of the same provider.

Private cloud

In the private cloud, the services and infrastructure are on a network that is exclusive to the company or organization. It can either be physically located in the business's local data center or hosted by a third-party service provider. This service brings many of the same advantages as the public one, such as agility and flexibility. However, it offers a higher level of security and privacy.

Hybrid cloud

In this model, the two previous scenarios (public and private) are combined to allow data transfer and platform sharing between them, bringing greater flexibility and optimizing the company's infrastructure and security. This is a strategy often used to reduce costs, for example, since while the public cloud is more cost-effective, the private cloud guarantees better protection for important data.
